There are not too many people willing to buy a home and move during the holidays, but for those who might want to, here are some good reasons to consider it…
1. Less competition
With all of the extra activities around the holidays, there are fewer people out looking for homes and that means less competition for the best properties. If you are interested in a poplar area where houses sell quickly, shopping during the holidays may give you an better opportunity of making a purchase in a high demand area.
During the holidays, owners may be willing to negotiate their price or make other concessions if they want to sell quickly.
2. Sellers are motivated
People who are trying to sell a property during the holidays typically have a specific reason for doing it and need to sell quickly. If the house has been on the market for a while, then there could be even more incentive for them to negotiate. You may get lucky and find a bargain!
3. Faster closing
Since there are less real estate transactions, typically a closing can be done more quickly and there is often additional flexibility in scheduling. Most likely everyone involved will be motivated to get the transaction done as fast as possible and before the end of the year.
Happy Holidays!
